From rolling out the pink carpet to great parking—Julian is made in Brookside.

If you were on a desert island and you could only choose one cocktail, what would it be: Old-fashioned.
If you could take three friends to loot one shop at Brookside, which one would it be: TK Maxx. Purely for the choice and diversity. I could furnish my house, stock the pantry, fill the wardrobe and even get the dog some treats!

Julian’s Brookside Story
Julian has been coming to Brookside since before he had a choice. But after 30 years, no one can keep him away.
As a practical man, one of the things Julian loves most about Brookside is its convenience. It’s close to where he lives, it has a huge variety and there’s always a spare car park when he needs it. No awkwardly stalking fellow shoppers as they head back to their cars.
But Brookside also reminds Julian of the good old days—being a carefree kid.
One of Julian’s fondest Brookside memories is with his nan back in the late 80s. They’d catch the bus in from Enoggera, which always felt like a big adventure to him. He’d insist they sit in the bendy part of the bus, in between the two sections. They called it the banana bus.
He remembers helping his nan buy the newspaper and slurping on a chocolate milkshake while she did the crossword. But his most vivid memory is of the pink carpet ramp that ran towards the now Big W. He must have spent hours as a kid running up and down that iconic ramp.
“Thanks for the opportunity to share a bit of myself with my community, Brookside.”
