Nicole’s Brookside Story Nicole has been coming to Brookside since the 80s. She used to get into mischief with her sisters in the car park—anything to avoid the dreaded grocery shop with Mum. But now the tables have turned and Nicole takes her own daughter, Sophia. But whether it’s grabbing a potato spiral, having a cheeky shop at Sportsgirl or TK Maxx or attending a slime making workshop, it’s never just boring grocery shopping.
But here’s what makes Brookside even more special to Nicole. It’s where she fell in love.
Nicole spent the summer of 1994 working at the eatery fish and chip shop, where a dashing young man named Franco was a regular. One day while Nicole was on break, he walked by and stopped for a chat. Her boss, Peter, saw something sparkle in the little exchange and had a secret chat with Franco. Next time Nicole was at work, Franco asked for a piece of fish, two potato scallops, a can of coke and a date. As Franco was leaving with his lunch, Nicole yelled out to him, DID YOU WANT MY NUMBER?!
“So here we are, two kids and 25 years of marriage. Thanks, Brookside!”
